LOVE YOU. -Clara Poteau Condolences and much love to our dear family. We love you, Gina. Therese Dabady, Marilyn (Dabady) Lynk and family (Braedan 14, Jabari 11) - Marilyn Lynk Homage to Miss Gina’s Memory:- Over the years, I perceived the changes as the deterioration of health took its steady toll on her. I would often enquire of her, “You good, my love?” She would always reply with optimism as though what I observed was far from what she was feeling. Words will never fittingly express how Miss Gina impacted my life. Her gait and the speed with which she moved changed over the course of the years, but she kept her head high and she put one foot in front of the other and moved forward. In my silent watch, she encouraged me through this to press on to my purpose. To focus on the sickness and the pain is to wallow in self-pity. I noticed the way her suffering eventually robbed the glimmers of light from her eyes and distorted the pureness of her smiles as her grimaced face clearly defined her internal turmoil, and I realised in those observations the malignancy of her chronic condition. I understood the value of the resilience wrought because of her pain and suffering. As difficult as the last years were for her, Miss Gina left us all a blueprint for suffering with determination to live and even with a modicum of grace to never complain. She never bewailed about her condition; she would briefly and even dismissively at times explain her present condition at time of inquiry. I’ll recount an anecdote that fittingly summarises the type of woman Miss Gina was and a testament of how significantly that moment became an embodiment of the depth of who she was to me. On Saturday, January 4th, 2020, I was in one of the local emergency rooms, and as I am sitting up on a hospital bed awaiting the doctor’s prognosis of my own condition, I noticed Miss Gina being wheeled in by EMS. I called out to her, and despite her own emergency, she worriedly questioned why I was there. I was discharged shortly thereafter and I sat with her before leaving the ER. Listening to her you would believe that she was fine and I was the one who needed to take better care of myself. Miss Gina was an awesome woman, a loving and caring woman, a queen, a friend. I’ll miss her for the remainder of my life, and I will lament the moments missed to have spent more time in her presence. Sleep in peace, Miss Gina! My heart is broken, but God knows best. Pain is no more and eternity is in the waiting. ❤️ -Bernadette Whaley The Bowers Family send their Condolences. May God give you strength to go on knowing and remembering God Does All Things Well. God Bless - Carol Bowers Mommy Gina you will be missed but never forgotten -Guilaine Blaise I love her so much and my heart is saddened. She will be missed but I know she home with God.
